I’ve decided to take the plunge and go to camp. I know the second book in my trilogy isn’t going to write itself and this is likely the only way the first draft will get done. I work well on a deadline. The first draft of Fae Hunter was written in the month of November during NaNoWriMo. For those of you who are unfamiliar with NaNoWriMo, it is basically a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. Camp NaNoWriMo is the same thing, except it takes place in June and August.
The first draft of Fae Hunter was 73,026 words. From December to mid-May I deleted approximately 40,000 of those words and wrote 50,000 more during revisions.
I have a rough outline of where I want to take this series next. You could say I am neither panster nor plotter, more like a short skirt with leggings in case it gets cold. I have a destination, but no real idea as to what route I am going to take until the story takes me there. It’s kind of exciting to me to think that I will actually be two-thirds done with the first draft of Book Two of the Soulstealer Trilogy when Fae Hunter is released on June 23rd!
Is anyone else going to camp? Starts in nine days and cabins are forming!
