Today is the official release date for Mane Attraction. Though if you searched you would have seen that on Amazon (at least) it has been up for a few days. That is just one of the many hoops you must jump through as an indie author. There are a lot of sales outlets that take “24 to 72” hours to post your book, so in order to make an advertised deadline, you need to send it to them early. Of course, since Apple does not let you upload directly to them unless you own a MAC, the Apple version of my release is at the mercy of the Smashwords monster which can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 months (I kid you not) to work. So for those of you waiting on my release from the iBookstore, I apologize.
A lot of people ask how I find the time to write books. Most of these people know me in my day to day life. They know that I work for a very busy attorney, they know I commute almost three hours a day, they know I have a 6 year old and a husband at home. They know a lot. To this question I always have to shrug my shoulders. The answer is, where do you find time to do anything you like or love to do? You just do. I don’t look at my writing career as that, a career. Though if you are the IRS please disregard that last statement, I am a very SERIOUS writer. I write because I love to write. I tell stories that are in me and want to come out. I love to entertain, to intrigue, to delight. It is born within the very marrow of my bones.
So to those of you who enjoy my stories and support my work I thank you whole heartedly. I only ever wanted to entertain and to let you disappear from the daily trials and tribulations we all go through. And perhaps bring a little joy into your life. If I have done that for any one person, then I have succeeded as a writer.
But don’t worry, I won’t let success go to my head. 🙂 I have plenty of stories left to tell.
